“Hey babes, welcome back for another episode of the Babe That's Bonkers podcast.
I am so excited to be here.
I am so excited to have you here.
I took a crazy big long break unintentionally.
I did indeed encounter some storage issues, some technical difficulties, if you will.
I am no professional when it comes to being a computer whiz and all that.
All this podcasting stuff, the audio engineering side of things, video editing, mumbo jumbo.
I'm just learning as I go along.
And I have learned that videos take up quite a bit of storage.
I did indeed max out my partner's hard drive.
I like record everything on his like gaming PC.
So I had to get an external hard drive or he already gave me one for my birthday actually because it's something I knew I would need.
And I'm just starting to like I'm trying to like build my repertoire of like equipment necessary to be like a content creator.
And the time came to where I ran out of storage.
Apparently 23 episodes was as many as I could store locally.
So yeah, I had to like, learn some things.
And there were indeed some learning curves, some challenges along the way, but we made it.
All of my stuff is like properly stored.
I have learned a lot and I am ready to continue my content creation journey.
And I will at least have a solution if this specific problem happens again.
So we're working things out.
Yeah, just doing a lot of learning over here.
So I did have to take a break just because, you know, if the technology won't let me record, you know, I can't really create the podcast kind of thing.
But we fixed it.
We're back.
So that's why I'm super duper excited.
And this episode specifically has been a long time coming.
Today, we're going to be chit chatting about moon phases, the moon cycle and all that jazz, a little astrology 101, if you will.
I really am just like getting a little antsy to wrap up this series.
I do really want to finish it.
At least this episode on the moon, maybe another episode on the, not maybe, I want to do another episode on planets as well.
And then probably one more about like numerology and like birth charts and something like that.
And I feel like that'll be a really solid foundation for us to just have like our weekly little astrology chit chat because I do just want to get back to like rambling about whatever the heck's been on my mind and feels important for me to share and you know more more storytelling more life lesson esque things with just like the astro stuff sprinkled in rather than being like the main focus because as much as I am interested in it and as fun as it's been just like sharing my learning journey with you guys just like bringing you guys along as I figure out what all these different things mean you know this isn't like an astrology podcast through and through it's just podcast about me and all my interests and stories and life lessons and all that jazz you know I want it to be a bit more artistic than scientific and just I don't want to put myself in any boxes okay no niches over here that has been a huge theme in my life recently all the time actually but I've just been thinking about it a lot specifically yesterday and so yeah we're gonna live that truth and just continue to say fuck off to all the niches like we don't need to niche down we're gonna do whatever the fuck you want to do because it's our life that is the way before we fully dive into things though there is something new I want to start introducing to the podcast potentially on a weekly basis but it really just depends on my planning so we'll see how it goes this is take one but if you happen to like read the descriptions of these episodes I always say grab your favorite beverage and you know let's get cozy and all that so I just wanted to start sharing like what my favorite beverage or beverage of the day is with you guys and just you know make you a part of it something my partner and I have been buying just like a lot more recently we have like a little mini fridge that we stock with this along with you know our concentrates of sorts but we've been super into the Oly Pops, the probiotic sodas we try to not like buy soda to keep in the house like we're not anti-soda people you know so does a delightful treat every now and again it's my preference over like alcohol most of the time just because you know it's not something that's like great for my body and just the after effects are just lesser than if I were to drink a lot any who but we try to be healthy but we also like to have fun drinks we'll keep like lemonade and juice and now we've started getting these like probiotic sodas over the past few months so I I'm an ollie pop girlie through and through at this point I know there are a few other brands I'm gonna try them but honestly these are just so good I'm like why why you know not show them my loyalty if I've really been enjoying them and all that jazz but I'm also a big fan of ASMR so I just wanted to start opening my little cans on camera on audio if you're not watching this which is totally fine not missing a ton just like facial expressions hand gestures and all that jazz I know YouTube has like a thing with like logos but I'm not monetized so I don't think that actually matters I was looking for a koozie we have some with smokey the bear on it and then I was like oh my god but isn't he also a logo of sorts but then I couldn't find them they're probably with our camping stuff so we're just raw dog in the can today but yeah let's pop this baby open we've got some strawberry vanilla today honestly like the vanilla it's it's not like strawberry Fanta it is very like creamy strawberries and cream as a soda I'm a big big fan but here we go.
Oh, that was so good.
Absolutely delightful.
Let me put the microphone back.
I hope you guys thought that was fun, because I'm gonna make that a thing, because I thought it was fun.
So yeah, welcome to beverage time.
I hope you're sipping on something delightful yourself, or alternatively, I hope that you're sipping on some water.
Sorry if you just heard that horrendous squeak.
My home is very close to a busy road, and that must have been some semi's breaks or something.
I was wild.
But we'll try to edit that out, but if not, my apologies.
But yeah, I hope you have a delightful beverage, or I hope you're staying hydrated.
Actually, I hope for both.
You know, it's a balance on either or, not mutually exclusive.
I always have my emotional support water bottle with me, and I almost always have a fun beverage on hand.
Because I can.
And that also almost always benefits me in some way.
Like my little SOTY, she's got probiotics, some healthy bacteria for the gut microbiome.
I'm also a big fan of electrolytes, liquid IVs, and like the knockoff version also.
Perhaps lemonade and juice, you know, they've got some vitamins if they're made from real fruit.
You know, we try to avoid the dyes and whatnot in our household.
So yeah, usually got my water on hand and a semi-healthy beverage.
So it's okay to have more than one, you know, double fisted.
Anywho, I'm rambling.
It's like I've forgotten how to podcast and stay on track.
You know, I accidentally take a freaking month off.
I actually did record this episode almost.
I got to the very end.
I was like about to wrap it up and give my spiel.
And then it had like its error telling me I ran out of storage.
And like didn't save the video.
Like it was just like the whole file was corrupted.
I'm like, why didn't you just like cut me off?
I could have like freed some stuff up and like patched work some video footage file things together and made it work after all that effort.
And I felt like it was a good run as well.
But that is not how the cookie crumbled.
So here we are chit chat about moon phases on this beautiful potentially Thursday.
For me, it's actually Sunday, but that gives me plenty of time, several days to like get this episode all edited and worked out.
So let's just go ahead and dive on in.
With these Astrology 101 episodes, you know, we're pretty much just like going over vocabulary and like what all the things mean and just figuring out how it all connects and makes sense.
And I also want to point out that I do have a very celestial t-shirt on today.
It definitely has those like tarot vibes, but I was looking for something that was just like kind of like moon vibey because what I was actually wearing today is actually what I recorded in last time.
Like how weird and funny is that?
But didn't want to do back to back outfits, especially when I just do have so much clothes.
Like might as well try to have some fun with it.
But as I was searching and searching, like something like moony, moonish, I saw this shirt my partner picked out for me and I knew it was the one.
So yeah, I just wanted to call that out because I made an effort and even if like the people don't appreciate it, I appreciate it, you know, the little nuance things like that.
Anywho, I'm rambling, getting off track again.
But we're gonna start off with a vocabulary.
I mean, it's pretty much just gonna be all vocabulary is essentially what I was saying, until we get to just the more story connection linky parts of the conversation.
But to start things off, we're gonna hop on over to the Cosmic Lattes Glossary page.
Seriously such a phenomenal resource.
I highly recommend checking her out.
Always gonna give her credit where credit's due.
Just a great compilation of astrology resources.
But the very first vocab word of the day is celestial bodies.
So in astronomy and astrology, a celestial body is considered any natural object outside of the Earth's atmosphere, including the sun, moon, asteroids, planet, comets, stars, which brings us to our next vocab word, which would be luminaries.
So luminaries refers to the most significant celestial bodies in the sky, which would be the sun and the moon, the ones that are seemingly luminous, glowing as they reflect on one another kind of thing, or I guess as the sun reflects on the moon.
I don't think they're moons.
The moon's making the sun much shinier.
I think she's doing that all on her own.
But yeah, these two luminaries play essential roles in all of our birth charts and all of astrology and just represents very distinct aspects of our individual personalities and life experiences.
And next up, finally bringing us to the meat and potatoes of today's episode, we have the lunar cycle.
The lunar cycle refers to the reoccurring pattern of the changes that happen in regard to the moon's appearance as it orbits around earth.
So it keeps track of all the different phases, you know, going from the new moon to the full moon back to the new moon again.
And that whole process, that whole cycle takes approximately 29 and a half days.
So that's why we've got like 30 days in the month or so.
So this whole lunar cycle has played a significant role in just like many cultures over time, you know, dating back to like ancient times, you know, the moon has been used as like a natural timekeeping system.
And it's also believed that, you know, the lunar phases have influence over our emotions, our behavior, our intuitions.
I feel like that makes sense because, you know, we as humans are mostly water.
And, you know, the moon does control the tide, the water of the earth, which I think is incredibly fascinating.
And just an example of how the moon has been used as like a natural timekeeping system for a very, very long time, you know, is the farmer's almanac.
The basis of that actually is like the moon.
It's like guiding the whole planting cycle, planting seasons that it like walks through each year.
It's a really great resource if you're into gardening.
Highly just recommend giving that a little Google.
You know, then you can like, you know, do your gardening, charge your crystals, and take care of yourself, do yourself care all at the same time.
You know what I mean?
So niching down from the lunar cycle, we have the lunar phase that refers to the different appearance itself of the moon as it orbits throughout the earth.
So as the moon goes through the lunar cycle, it is going to go through several phases, take on several different appearance appearances as it moves around.
And the different lunar phases are as follows.
We've got the new moon, the waxing crescent, the first quarter, the waxing gibbous, the full moon, the waning gibbous, the third quarter and the waning crescent.
And then that brings us back to the new moon.
So on each different phase embodies a different kind of energy that's just like placed over the what the like celestial collective, the universal collective.
I feel like that's like, when I say collective, I mean just like the collective energy of just like every living being in the universe on the planet.
You know, there is just like a shift, you know, going day to day through each like phase of the cycle is kind of what I'm trying to describe.
I feel like that's just like the big part of astrology, you know, just like each day having like its own horoscope, you know, the moon's in a different place, the sun's in a different place, the planets are all shifting places.
So when all of these different like things that have meaning are like conjuring happening at the same time or whatever, conjoining, I guess is a better word for that, you know, that's how we get, you know, the unique daily horoscope, I think.
And that being said, we are going to dive in to each one of these individual phases and just kind of like debunk the vibes, you know?
So starting off with the new moon, which, you know, starts and ends each cycle, that's whenever there's like kind of nothingness in the sky.
It's going to be the darkest night of the cycle because the moon's backside is lit and the front side is dark.
And this phase is used as a sort of like nothingness, obscurity.
You know, there's not much going on in the sky.
And that can sound a little like dark and depressing, but it's actually also, you know, an opportunity for just like limitless potential.
You know, if there's nothing there, then anything could be there kind of thing.
It's very much like a blank canvas, a blank sheet of paper, just like waiting for the art to like be created.
And like I've like mentioned in the past, you know, the new moon aligns with new beginnings.
It's kicking off this lunar cycle.
So this is the start of things.
That's why it's the blank canvas.
You know, we're going to start writing this story for the month.
And so in astrology, it's suggested that when we're at this point of the lunar cycle, you know, it's a good time to just like take inventory of yourself and your energy, just kind of like start to think about the different like things you want to manifest, start setting intentions a little bit, you know, and very much is like looking inward and trying to like regroup and gain focus as we start this new journey.
You know, where are we going?
So next up, a few days after the new moon, we have the waxing crescent.
So my seventh grade science teacher, my favorite teacher personally, but something I that has like stuck with me is just whenever he was describing the moon cycles, he related it back to karate kids saying it's wax on wane off kind of thing.
So whenever it's waxing, that means the moon is growing, we're going to have greater visibility.
And like with that, you know, there's going to be this like continuous theme of growth as we like make our way towards the full moon.
You know, it's just kind of chunked up into like different stages.
So like the new moon is the start.
Now we're at the waxing crescent.
That is still the very like beginning of the journey, the initial stages.
So we're still in a period of manifestation.
We're still in a period of like planning things out and just like getting going.
You know, it's still a great time to be like setting your intentions, but it's also a great time to start taking actions after you've had a little, a little few days, a few moments, you know, a little chunk of time to start thinking about what that's going to look like for you.
And as that moon keeps on growing, you know, that's going to lead us to the first quarter moon.
So the quarter moon was actually going to look like a half moon, you know, just thinking of the moon, it is a spherical thing.
So we only actually see half of it at the same time.
So when we see half of the half, you know, that makes a quarter, right?
Sorry if that was confusing.
Math kind of was one of my strong suits growing up for sure, but I feel like that makes it just like easy for me to like, you know, grasp these things.
So sometimes I'm not the best at explaining those types of things to people who might not click with the numbers stuff as naturally.
So, you know, my apologies.
Feel free to ask questions for clarity or all that jazz in the comments.
You know, I'm not a professional.
I'm just learning as I go along, but I do try my best to be helpful.
And you know, I did take some teaching classes whenever I was in college.
That was definitely a part of my curriculum.
And I have at least taught little workshops and classes for, you know, kindergartners and stuff.
I think some high schoolers too, you know, at different times.
But I didn't spend a lot of time with kindergartners, first graders for a while whenever I was a senior.
But we can dive into those stories another time.
All to say, what was I even saying?
Let's get back on track.
So this quarter moon is going to occur about one week after the new moon.
It's that exact halfway point in between the fresh start of the new moon and the sense of culmination that comes with the full moon.
So we're just in that in-between stage, just halfway there to making our way towards our goals.
We are still riding those vibes of growth, and there might be some challenges that are popping up along the way at this point.
It might be a time for decision making.
Once we're halfway through, we're definitely at the place where we should be taking action and initiative towards our goals.
We're past that thinking, planning stage.
It's the time to figure out what's going to help us keep that momentum towards reaching our goals as we approach this full moon.
And we know we are almost there, almost there, guys, when we are at the waxing gibbous.
This is the phase of the moon that is just before we reach the full moon.
It's going to look almost full, almost circular, but just kind of like a little lopsided, just a little funky, if you will.
So and as we are like reaching the end of this second week, you know, we are at the place of where we've like, we've done all this work, we've done all this prep, we've started taking actions, and we've been growing, working on building momentum, just like taking these steps towards our goals, and now we finally made it to the home stretch.
I was like a distant swimmer in high school because I was super duper slow.
I was a water polo player, not really a swimmer.
Could have, should have, would have done both.
But, anywho, I swam like the 500, and so like, you've just got to like prep for like all these laps, you know, whenever you're working on the endurance game.
And so this would be the point where I'm at like lap 18 out of 20, and it's like, okay, I can start picking up the pace because I'm reaching the end here.
You know, I've carried myself all this way, and now I can kind of start letting loose.
Like now's my time to shine.
Like the finish line is is approaching.
It's like in our sight, we can see the light at the end of the tunnel kind of thing.
So it's important to like know yourself and be able to like give yourself what you need in order to stay motivated at this time, because this is also the kind of time whenever like if you haven't paced yourself well, like you might be like about to crash out.
We don't want that we want to be, you know, riding the momentum, like riding the wave that gets us to our goals and it's okay if things aren't flowing perfectly, because it also depends on like what star sign the whole like moon thing is under and all that jazz.
But again, we will we will get to putting all these puzzle pieces together eventually.
But just kind of reiterating that we are about to reach this like peak of our like celestial energy, I guess you could say lunar energy, lunar solstice, whatever.
And that brings us right to the full moon in this journey.
So we are halfway through the entire lunar cycle, but we finally got to the point where the whole moon is visible, the holding thing.
I don't know why I'm doing that, but it's fun.
So you know, let's just work with it.
But at this point, the moon is directly across from the sun.
So it's just having its like whole front side illuminated, reflected upon us little human beings down on earth.
Little earthlings we are.
But again, we're at that midpoint of the lunar cycle.
We're halfway through that complete orbit around earth.
That's what takes the 29 and a half days is the moon to do its little thing going around our little home planet.
So yeah, this is a time of culmination, a time of fulfillment.
You know, we've been working, building to this point.
It's a time of kind of like celebrating things perhaps, or maybe if things didn't go well, it's a time of clarity.
You know, everything has finally come together.
All the pieces of the puzzle have have been, you know, brought to our attention, I guess, you know, we can we can see the full picture at this point.
So whatever energy we were, you know, putting off during that new moon and however we we cultivated that energy over the past few weeks.
Now we are, you know, experiencing that energy in its fullness during the full moon.
You know, this does that make sense getting it?
I feel like I'm finally starting to understand things, you know.
The moon is also a symbol of, you know, the subconscious, our intuition, you know, emotion, all of those things.
So whenever the full moon is out and about, we can be more more heightened in our emotions.
We can perhaps be more sensitive.
You know, things might feel more intense for us at this time.
But, you know, with the full moon shining down on us, you know, that is a time for illumination.
So, you know, if like issues are happening, you know, it's just like showing us like what needs to change, you know, it's a reflection back on ourselves, you know, in our own life kind of thing.
But I just I just think it's really cool, you know, how how symbolic all of this can be.
And the fact that it just like is our existence, like we are literally living this metaphor every day, you know, but and now that the full moon has passed at this point in the story, in this cycle, you know, we're pretty much going to be doing everything in reverse.
So the next phase is the waning gibbous.
So still a big moon, but you know, it's losing its fullness.
It's going to start getting smaller at this point.
It's, you know, the day's leading up to that last quarter moon.
So it's not, it's not a half moon, half, half moon yet, but it's also not a full moon any longer.
The day's in between that.
So now that we're on the flip side of things, before, as we were kind of in that whole like period of growth, of building momentum, now we've kind of, you know, reached that peak, reached that climax in the cycle of the season.
So the theme has also shifted to kind of represent that.
And as the moon is kind of like losing light, reflecting less upon us, it very much represents, you know, a season of letting go, you know, it's letting go pieces of itself that it no longer leaves, no longer aligns with, you know.
It had this revelation during the full moon.
We had this revelation during the full moon.
We learned something, you know, something was reflected back onto us.
And you know, now we are able to like do something with that information, you know, start letting go of what no longer serves us.
And again, you know, this is gonna be like a continuous theme until we reach that new moon phase at the end to wrap up the whole cycle.
So, you know, you don't have to immediately just like, let go of all the things, you know.
We're now thinking of, you know, what needs to be let go of.
We're in that reflective, introspective state once again.
Just kind of thinking of, you know, what narratives are we holding onto that are just like outdated for like the person that we are trying to become, you know.
What old habits can we shed that just don't align with like the best versions of ourself, you know.
Those are really, really great questions to start asking yourself after this like full moon period as, you know, things start like coming to a close.
And now at about that three week mark, we finally reached that third quarter moon.
So we're seeing the half of a half.
It's gonna be, you know, a nice, satisfying straight line, you know.
There's not gonna be a little curve to it yet.
But as it's kind of half illuminated, you know, we are half still in that reflective state and then half entering, you know, the state of like actually taking action.
You know, we've looked within, we've decided, you know, what we need to, you know, surrender and let go of.
And now we are at the point to like start taking action on that and start doing that and start living out the lesson that we have decided we've learned over this last season.
And the next step we have the waning crescent.
And I'm sure you all could have guessed this was coming, right?
I should have quizzed you, but too late for that.
You know, it's just going to be that little sliver of the moon that's left.
Always makes me think of the Jonas Brothers when they say the moon looks like a toenail.
But anywho, but as the light of the moon continues to diminish and there's just less and less of it left, it's, you know, showing us that it's time to reenter that state of reflection, you know, that happens whenever we arrive at this new moon.
And it's time to start making space for that new beginning.
Like, that's why we need to let go of stuff is because we need to make room for everything that does serve us.
You know what I mean?
It's about crowding out like we need to make room to accept the love that we deserve by, you know, leaving behind the, you know, the things that just that we don't deserve, you know, the thoughts in our head that, you know, don't really do us any good the way that we treat ourselves, you know, habits that just like mean to change, that don't like benefit us, that don't make us feel fully ourselves, you know.
All those things that happen in your head that make you feel like, you know, you're put into some box and that you're not yourself and that you're misunderstood, like those are the things that we let go of during these times.
We can make space in order to be like fully ourselves.
At least that's my take on things.
So, and that's a wrap on the lunar cycle, a little deep dive on all the individual little phases and the vibes that they bring.
But we're not done yet.
We do have a few more vocab words pertaining to the moon while we're at it.
So just stick with me and then we'll get into some more fun things.
You know, a little recess after the lesson.
But next up, we have the lunar node.
This is something that I've read before and it is a little bit more on the confusing side.
So just, you know, try your best to follow along with me.
But but actually, because of that, I'm just going to read this verbatim again.
This is from the Cosmic Latte.
You know, not my own thoughts.
I'm just sharing them.
But a lunar node, it describes the two orbital nodes of the moon or the points where the moon's orbit intersects the ecliptic.
So let's go read what the heck ecliptic means.
Ecliptic from the perspective of Earth's orbit around the sun, the ecliptic plane outlines the path of the sun, moon, planets, and other celestial bodies over the course of the year.
So just, you know, the rotation, the orbit, you know, I'm, ecliptic I think is the shape to mean that it's ovular, not circular, I think.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
I haven't done geometry in a long time.
But these celestial bodies travel through the zodiac constellations arrange along the ecliptic path.
So I believe the ecliptic path goes through the zodiac belt, which is why the planets and the moon are always, you know, in under a different zodiac sign.
Right, right, following along.
In tropical astrology, whoa, tropical astrology, the ecliptic plane is divided into 12 sections to correspond with the 12 zodiac signs.
In tradition, ancient astrology, the first constellations, Aries, however, the earth has shifted over years, and Pisces is not technically the first constellation.
Anywho, we're not going to get into those kind of debates.
I don't know enough to share that.
But now, bringing it back to the lunar node.
So the lunar nodes are the points where the moon's orbit intersects with the ecliptic.
They shift positions among zodiac constellations every 18 months.
In astrology, the lunar nodes reflect your past lifetimes in the south node and point to your destiny in this lifetime in the north node.
So that makes sense.
You know, north looking ahead towards your future, the past looking behind you.
You know, the things that you energetically carry with you from like, I don't know, the energy from your ancestors, the energy from your past life.
I don't know if you believe in reincarnation, but I just believe in energy in general.
I think it can mean a lot of things and I don't think anyone really fucking knows, so it is what you make it.
I think that's also what magic is.
It's like whatever you believe, that's what it is.
You know?
So it also notes just that individuals born within the same lunar node group are here on earth to learn the same or similar lesson.
So that's interesting.
So is that like what like the people you essentially would go to school with, the people who are like within 18 months of you, like a year and a half?
I guess from like a why are we here standpoint?
Why was I born at like this time?
You know, that kind of answers that.
I was born at the same time as my friends is because our souls were meant to live at the certain time where only at that time could we learn these lessons kind of thing.
That's that's an interesting thought.
I like that.
Then I wanted to dive into the eclipses real quick as well, because I was going to do the lunar eclipse and might as well do the solar eclipse as well, just to have them together.
I feel like it's good to, you know, kind of debunk all of the luminaries at the same time so then we can focus solely on the planets next go round.
And I feel like we kind of already got the sun with like the star signs and all that jazz, you know, that side of things.
But a lunar eclipse occurs when the sun, moon and earth are exactly or like partially aligned, just aligned for the most part.
And as a result, the earth blocks sun light from like reaching the moon, which casts like a dark shadow over it.
So, and like from an astrology spiritual perspective, lunar eclipses activate the lunar nodes or the nodes of fate.
It's a good way to remember them, you know, your fate, your past, present, future kind of thing.
But it's also, you know, known to just like illuminate our karmic path.
So before with the lunar, you know, the earth is blocking the sun from shining on the moon, casting a shadow with the solar eclipse.
The moon is blocking the sun from reaching the earth.
So that's gonna be the one that happens during the daytime.
I do believe that you will need like goggles to look at, like welding goggles, something like very dark.
Don't stare at the sun like ever, but definitely not then, I've heard.
But you know, everything's like aligned again, but just like the order of the planets is different.
Something that's interesting is that solar eclipses occur during new moons as well, which is, you know, those like new beginning vibes as we were talking about.
So they're like known to just like catalyze, just like profound change, you know, and just like really like surge the energies up in that new beginning kind of vibe.
But it can definitely be very intense, you know, generally just associated with breakthroughs, you know, just like very profound beginnings and endings, just like major shifts in your life kind of thing.
We've had like a couple eclipses throughout the year, so I'm sure we've all felt some some major things just like happening.
I feel like the year has been very chaotic.
Like, I don't know.
How do you feel?
But the whole solar eclipse chunk of the glossary is pretty long.
So if you want to know some more information, that's actually very interesting just like about like our own personal zodiac sign and like how it can like, you know, be amplified during solar eclipses and houses and birth charts and stuff, you know, you can go ahead and hop on the the articles linked below if you'd like to read more.
But I am going to move on to the next little vocab word.
So the next couple of ones are very interesting.
They're the lunar and solar returns.
So this actually might be better for the birth chart, but I'm just trying to go through all the different like lunar vocabulary, just letting the solar ones tag along.
So the lunar return is the moment when the moon completes a full orbit around the earth and returns to the same zodiac sign and the same like degree.
So like positioning as it was, is at your specific time of birth.
So this is something that is like very personal to each one of us.
You know, there's not going to be like something happens like, oh, it's the lunar return.
Like it's your lunar return.
Whenever the moon just returned to this spot it was at whenever you were born kind of thing.
But it's a time of just like, you know, heightened sensitivity and intuition and you know, a really, really great time to just like do that like moon vibe-y introspective, reflective, you know, work that we've kind of been talking about that aligns with the lunar cycle.
Great things of just like exploring your inner landscape, tuning into your inner rhythm and reconnecting with yourself.
You know, it's about you and feeling the most you and how to get there and embrace that and all that jazz.
And then the solar return is just the flip side of that.
Whenever the sun reaches the same position that it was in, you know, at your time of birth.
So a lot of times, it's our birthday or maybe the day before or after or something like that.
But I feel like a lot of people, you know, kind of just like really love their birth month, you know.
And yes, it does have to do with just like being celebrated on your birthday, perhaps.
But I feel like there is just like an energy of just like coming home to yourself in a way of just like entering your season.
Like the vibes just feel right.
And, you know, the sun shines a little bit brighter.
I feel a little bit brighter, you know.
I feel like, you know, I'm just more open to and I'm experiencing more good fortune and just luckiness.
You know, there's more opportunity, abundance, those kinds of vibes, you know what I mean?
But and our last vocabulary word for the day is kind of a fun one, but it's the super moon.
I see these things all the time, just like on the Internet, like, oh, my goodness, we're about to have a super moon, super duper rare.
But then like I see them a lot.
So it's kind of weird.
There's like super moons, blue moons, red moons, just all kind of interesting moons.
So I figured I'll share this little tidbit that I've come across.
The super moon is a phenomena that occurs when the new moon or full moon is in the loser loser phase.
What lunar phase perigee, which describes the moon's orbit hitting the closest point to Earth.
That's interesting.
So I guess that makes sense on why it's a super moon.
You know, let me just keep reading.
As a result, the moon appears larger than usual in the sky, which is what I was about to say, makes sense on why it's a super moon.
It's super big because it's closer to us than it normally is.
So that that makes sense.
You know what I mean?
But it also mentions that super moons symbolize a time of intense reflection and rebirth.
So probably the same energies that we discuss that happen in the regular lunar cycle, especially during that full moon moment, except just ultra heightened because it's just like the energy is closer to us.
You know, it's like whenever you have like two magnets together and you can just like feel things just like pull stronger or push stronger as you like bring them closer together kind of thing, you know, our energies are closer together so they can react more intensely perhaps.
That's at least my spiritual take on things.
But yeah, that's a wrap on our moon vocabulary of the day.
Yay.
Yay.
I feel smarter.
I hope you feel like you learned something and understand astrology a little bit better.
But I do want to chat a little bit more about the moon cycle and how it relates to the feminine cycle.
This is something that I just find incredibly fascinating and for me is just personally relevant.
Something that I've been trying to do more in the past couple months, actually really started it like a month ago from now whenever I recorded the burnout episode because I was on my period and I was just realizing like, oh, every every few weeks when I record I just feel so bleh and I just don't want to do this and I just noticed that was a pattern.
And then the last one being on my period and sorry if this is TMI, but literally 50% of the universe has a period so like, deal, whatever.
It's actually important to talk about these things and have open discussions because it's super human and it's supernatural and you know, it's just nothing to be embarrassed about or ashamed of.
I feel like that's very much like the stigma, the vibes and I don't like them.
So we're just going to have some girly chats today.
But I was on my period and I realized like, oh, it's probably because of that.
That's why I feel burnt out and fatigued.
Like I see this pattern establishing, so I want to do something about it.
So as I've just been looking into like cycle sinking a little bit more, I've just been trying to like, I guess honor my body in different ways.
I do want to get into it more in terms of like what I eat and stuff like that.
I guess I kind of am.
On one hand, I'm trying to like lean into my cravings more.
Like if I'm craving red meat is probably because I need some sort of nutrients like that.
Or if I'm craving an avocado, it's probably because my body needs some healthy fats.
You know, I don't really trust my sugar cravings as much that I kind of test myself of like, would I eat an apple right now?
If the answer is yes, then I probably do need some sugar and I probably am actually hungry.
But if the answer is no to like an apple, then I'm probably not actually hungry.
And it's just like my body's crave for dopamine and all the other chemicals from sugar and other addictive chemicals and all that jazz.
So I am just trying to like listen to my body a lot more and just be more intuitive when it comes to like what I put in it.
And also just like the energy that I'm putting out.
Like it makes sense that I feel burnout when I'm on my period because my body is burning more calories than usual.
And there's just like extra things happening.
And you know, it's important to rest more.
Like I've been sleeping in this weekend more now that it's a month later and I'm on my period again and I feel super burnout again, but I'm not letting that stop me from record.
I guess I didn't last time either.
It was the storage issue, technical difficulties.
I don't know why I've like internalized it.
Like that's my fault.
But anywho, something for me to journal about, perhaps.
But for the past like month, essentially, I've been trying to like work out according to my cycle.
I've been like tracking it so like I can kind of like guess what season I'm in, how it kind of like lines up is like your menstrual phase, your period is like your winter.
Great time for hibernation.
It's a time of rest, but it's also not necessarily a time of like nothingness.
I'm trying to eat more like comfort foods, but not like greasy fast, like lazy foods like chicken, pot pie.
Sure, that sounds great.
Very homey, very comforty.
McDonald's, not really the best option.
You know what I mean, that kind of thing.
And just if I'm going to eat some chocolate, like let's maybe have some dark chocolate instead of just like whatever candy, just trying to be more intentional about those things.
But that's kind of how I'm trying to live out this like winter season that I'm in.
And I'm only working out once in my winter, like as far as like weight lifting or like, you know, intense like stretching goes.
Like I still want to move and be active.
Like I think walks are really great regularly and just like going outside, tossing the ball for my dog or frisbee.
That's what we've been doing more.
It's not an actual frisbee, just I throw it like a frisbee.
So that's where the hand motion is coming from if you're watching this.
And if you're listening to this, you're probably confused.
But after winter, obviously comes spring, so that's our follicular phase.
And I'm trying to like, plan like a couple more things, you know, I'll do two workouts that week, you know, that sounds like a great, you know, step up a little bit, but not too much, that kind of thing.
And just like, also like planning more like creative projects, not a ton, just like more, and just like ramping things up until I get to like my summer era of like ovulation.
And you know, that's whenever I'm just like at my peak energy, I'm trying to like plan the most at that time, I'm trying to like make my like social plans during that time, which I found is a pickle, because it turns out for me, that's around the first of the month when I pay all the bills, so I'm usually broke.
So it's like cool.
Whenever I want to go out and like do things, I have the energy, the vibes are there.
I'm expec-
sorry for his little sneezes.
But yeah, whenever the vibes are there, for me to be social, they're not there necessarily in the finances department because you know, gotta take care of things and all that jazz.
So that's just been like a personal revelation, but perhaps interesting.
And then, you know, for summer, you know, working out like three times that week, like three days of like weight lifting, you know, in addition to like swimming or just like, however much I feel like I can handle, just like allowing myself to push myself, or doing a couple workouts and like a hike.
That's what we did this last time.
And just like, you know, planning like a day trip at that time, I thought was like really, really great.
And you know, it was really enjoyable.
And you know, then comes fall, the luteal phase where things start to wind down a little bit, you know, doing like a couple workouts that week, you know, just, you know, maybe eating less like fresh foods, kind of coming back to that, like a homey, like protein hardy.
I feel like during ovulation, I really crave like fruits, vegetables, very like hydrating, like nutrient dense foods.
I don't know.
Again, I'm not really an expert in the diet side of things.
I'm really only one month in just kind of like getting to know myself and my energies and just like paying attention to these things.
And I do feel like the information that I've received when it comes to like cycle seeking is like lining up with like what I'm experiencing.
And I just think it'll be a great thing to like plan for that way.
I'm not like, oh my goodness, I have so much to do.
I plan so much, but I feel like energetic garbage.
So I don't want to do diddly squat and I just feel so overwhelmed.
So I'm just going to like shut down kind of thing.
Like I'm trying to avoid that.
I feel like that's how the burnout happens.
You know, I'm trying to like respect my body and its needs and its capacity more.
Like yes, I do want to condition it to be capable of more because I have hopes and goals and dreams and all that jazz.
But I also want to respect it and I don't want to push it too hard because again, it's the only body I have and I feel like that's how I find balance and that's how I can show it love.
You know what I mean?
So as I've been getting really into just like cycle syncing and all that jazz, you know, for personal reasons, I thought it was really great to like combine some of that with this moon cycle episode, especially because in the witchy world, which we know we're all about over here, there are some like mystical relations when it comes to the feminine cycle and moon cycles, which we are now finally going to get into.
But the red moon cycle is whenever you have your period on like a waxing or full moon.
So that's going to be the time where like the moon is filling out the first half of things.
And if this happens to be you, it's said that this represents women who are healers, they're wise, they're often like mentors, when it comes to things that they're like creatively passionate about kind of thing.
Very much the kind of person to like self-actualize like their hopes and dreams in order to help others, in order to teach others, like they're very much the kind of person who gives in the way of like knowledge, like gives things from the mind kind of thing.
Again, a lot of these people are like healers, midwives, that kind of vibe.
And then on the flip side, people on the white moon cycle are people who have their period on the waning moon or the new moon.
So whenever everything's like kind of disappearing, coming to the close type thing, these women are known to have very strong intuitions.
You know, they're, again, both of these are the creative type.
And I think that just goes to show that women are very innately creative.
And you know, creativity can come out especially during the time of like your menstrual cycle or whatever.
So I think that's pretty interesting.
Maybe that's what I should try is like planning some like painting sessions versus like recording and editing, which feels like a little more like work in a way.
Anyhow, just some side thoughts.
But White Moon Cycle, women who have their period on the New Moon, fertile, creative, very nurturing.
This is like more the caregiver type versus like the healer type.
And like, yes, both are caring, both are giving, but it's in it's in different ways, I think.
You know, the Red Moon Cycle, I feel like pertained more to like people who like, you know, were just more like scientific, logical, like a lot to do with like the intellect and the mind.
And I feel like the caregiver has a lot more to do with like the heart and soul.
And, you know, the Red Moon Cycle talked about like sharing the knowledge, teaching, just like connecting with people at this time versus the White Moon Cycle.
It suggests, you know, a lot of people, you know, want to use this time to reflect and have a period of solitude, you know, a period of reclusion, just coming into one's self.
And not that it matters.
This is just where like I personally fall.
And like this can definitely change.
Like our cycle can and will change based on like stress and medications and all sorts of different like life experiences.
So it's not like you're like stuck being either one of these kinds of people.
I just think it's just like an interesting phenomenon.
You know what I mean?
But I definitely personally feel like I love to like be alone.
I love to create.
I do feel like my intuition is very strong and I like to take care of people, but I don't really like to teach people.
I don't really want to be a mentor, at least in this season of life.
Like I think I'm good at it.
And like there is a lot like a sense of fulfillment to get out of it, but I don't feel like drawn to it if that makes sense.
I'm not trying to talk down on anything, but like I just don't see myself as a teacher.
It's one of those things it's like, yeah, I could do it.
Yeah, I'd be good at it.
And like, yeah, there is like a lot to like get out of it, but it's just like not my vibe versus like going off into the woods alone and painting something and then coming back to rejoin society when I'm ready is much more my vibe.
So yeah, that's just me, you know, using confirmation bias to align with all the different like witchy analogies and whatever else.
I don't even know if that sentence made sense.
So that's just my little spiel when it comes to that.
I read quite a few articles and I'm going to link them all down below if you want to know more and just want to like really deep dive on that.
It was super duper interesting, but this episode is already quite long.
So I'm just going to like nip that in the bud there and you know, you can take it from there if your heart desires.
As far as like a quick little real time astrology update goes, we recently had the full moon in Scorpio a few days ago, so honestly, almost a week ago at this point.
So maybe when we go outside, we'll see that quarter moon pretty soon.
That rhymed, I liked that.
But you know, that full moon represents that time of just like, you know, things being illuminated in your life.
You know, what's being reflected upon you?
Like what is coming to a climax?
What things are coming to a head at this point?
You know, were you like being focused and like super intentional about like building up your goals?
Or were you like me, not even paying attention at all and just letting this shit happen to you and then reading about it after the fact and be like, ah, so that's why the vibes were like that.
But Scorpio is, as we've talked about in the past, in previous Astrology 101s, if you don't know, go check it out.
I have one where we go over all the different zodiac signs.
Scorpio is a fixed water sign.
If you don't know what that means, that episode will teach you.
But Scorpio has a lot to do with the art of alchemy.
It's a very transitional, how do we transform into the next version of ourself kind of sign?
And that does come with work.
You can't just become the next version of yourself naturally.
You have to put in the work.
So I do think some people sometimes get stuck in themselves a little bit.
So that's just kind of like something that's a little interesting.
Like if you're resisting transformation, if you're resisting change, you know, then you can like be like stuck in this like super stagnant.
Just like it requires work to become this like alchemist of sorts.
So yeah, it describes that like Scorpio is consciously working through weaknesses or fears to transmute them into strength.
So if you're not being self aware, if you're not utilizing your consciousness, the subconscious might prevent you from enacting these super, you know, big changes for yourself.
And then when you put it all together, the full moon in Scorpio, we've got just like a powerful time to share yourself and your work with the world and just like see things come together in meaningful ways, you know, perhaps socially.
Just a time of like trusting the unknown, letting whatever be be, you know, embracing like some magnetic energy, just like attracting what's meant for you, you know, leaving the rest up to the universe kind of thing, but also like taking action.
Like if you have goals, if you have things you want, like act like it, make choices that act like it kind of thing.
But that is officially a wrap on all things astrology today.
It's been a fun one.
It's been so, so lovely to be back.
I do have a few more life updates.
Oh my goodness.
I'm like reading them and I fill these out whenever I like first prep this episode literally a month ago.
So things are a little out of date and I have a few extras as well to add on.
But something I was doing, like when I was trying to record this episode originally, was just kind of doing some more like homey baking, like Easter time was upon us kind of sort of.
My partner and I both worked, we often work on holidays.
So we like to just like pick our next like day off together and like make that our holiday kind of thing.
I don't think I've like talked about this.
So like we did like a cute little Easter egg hunt for each other.
And that was actually really, really fun.
I'm just a big fan of a scavenger hunt.
And I'm so happy my partner did it with me.
I thought it was kind of childish at first, but then after I forced him to do it, he was like, okay, that was fun.
And I'm just, I'm big on making the memories, you know, let's be silly and goofy because we only have one life to live.
Why fuck it not, you know?
And for that, I decided to cook some like more homey food.
I've just been feeling a little homesick these days.
And so I decided to make some sopa.
It's a traditional Portuguese dish.
Growing up, I participated in a lot of Portuguese festas in California, especially Central California.
There is a pretty significant population of Portuguese people and they try their best to like stay in touch with their cultures.
And essentially, on the weekends, we'll have a religious celebration to honor, you know, perhaps like the Holy Spirit or the Virgin Mary or St.
Anthony or another Catholic saint.
The Portuguese people are often Catholic.
At least that's just how it was growing up, okay?
But everyone makes their own decisions nowadays.
But besides the point is there are wonderful celebrations, tons of memories made at them and all of them, they served like the same food.
It's kind of like, I want to say like poor people food, just because like you don't have to like pay to eat at these things.
It's something that's for the community where a bunch of people just come together and they get to eat together kind of thing.
It's like donation based sometimes, but essentially, soapage is just like a bunch of meat, like chuck stew meat, beef, cabbage.
Sometimes they'll throw carrots and potatoes in there.
I didn't this time.
I might next time for some pizzazz, but it's really just like meat, cabbage, the juice, which is the best part.
So, so good.
Just like a beautiful, brilliant, flavorful broth and bread, French bread, usually day old.
Stale is ideal to just like chop it up and you like make your plate, you put your bread out, you pour the juice on top to get the bread all nice and soggy.
And that sounds kind of gross, but it's delicious.
Like makes me so, so happy.
And it was just, it was a beautiful meal.
I think I did a pretty good job of making it taste pretty similar to the ones that I had like eaten growing up, which was very challenging working off of like recipes from the Internet.
Last time I went home, my grandma's recipe book was nowhere to be found.
I don't even think she had a soba recipe though.
Who knows?
Maybe, who knows?
But so I was just kind of like tweaking things, going based off of like smells.
And it was obviously like a really fun experience.
I do love just getting to bust out the Dutch oven, the cast iron, to do some home cooking.
And just, it feels right.
It feels vibey, very cozy.
I also made phalage, which are like Portuguese donuts.
I swear most cultures have some sort of a fried dough covered in sugar.
And this was ours.
So I made some of those and they turned out really, really great.
There was a little bit of a yeast snafu.
The yeast I had was expired in like a jar.
And I tried to like yeast in any ways and it just wasn't working.
And I had some like packet yeast and that was also expired.
It was like older than the jar of yeast.
It was actually more lively when I like tried that one, but both of them are kind of bunk.
So my partner was lovely.
He went to the store and got some fresh yeast for me and made the world of a difference.
And I did, I actually made like a couple rounds.
It was like a test round and like a really big batch because again, I was working from recipes off of the internet and I expected the first one to be bigger than it was.
But it all worked out in the end because I really wanted to make some for my coworkers and I was able to plan it so I could do it like right before I went into work.
And then I got to give it to them fresh because something my dad always like went on and on about was just like they're always best the first day and then after that they're kind of whatever and he's just so right like they're good they're not bad they're they're still fried fried dough covered in sugar how can you how can you go wrong but there's just like that pillowy delightfully softness in the beginning when they're still like hot and warm it was just so so beautiful and I'm just really glad I got to share that with my partner those are things that I had never cooked for him before and we're just like really really significant parts of like my cultural upbringing and it just made me feel so at home and it was just delicious at the end of the day enjoyed it so thoroughly and even though I ate lunch right before this had a little um made some like avocado egg salad on toast um nice healthy balance of protein and fats before this but now that I've been talking about soapage that just sounds so good for dinner but nay I'm making taco salad again another one of my grandma's recipes I need to call her after this that's what I'm gonna do um call your grandma or your grandpa or your person whoever's on your heart give them a ring um but she used to make this like taco salad with catalina dressing and I think Doritos I might at least be using Doritos it would probably be healthier with just regular tortilla chips but meh we're going at it it's gonna be filled with you know some nice lean ground beef and you know a bunch of fresh vegetables so like we can throw a few Doritos and some some sweet sauce in there and again I'm really just looking for that taste of home and I've eaten really healthy the rest of the day so I feel like having like little bits of like processed food or sugar or just things that aren't like the best like it's okay like it's all about balance it's all about everything in moderation like I am probably the healthiest I've ever been for the most part in my life like since I've since I've lived in this house every other house I've lived in I've not been the healthiest version of myself I've maybe been stronger but not the healthiest version and I'm really proud of who I am today because I feel good in my body I eat lots of healthy food but then I also eat whatever the fuck I want outside of that like if I want to eat Oreos I eat Oreos if I want soda I drink soda if I want ice cream I eat ice cream and you know I've just like allowed myself that wiggle room and I feel like that's just a huge part of enjoying life like yeah discipline can be great in so many ways but again I'm very much on a you only live one life kick these days so why not just eat the ice cream like don't eat a whole carton every day but like you can have a little serving like it's okay it's all right you know the next little life update I had from last month was just working on some plein air preparations I believe that's French for painting outside I have just been wanting to like compile a little kit I think I've talked about it before and it is it is close to being ready I really just need like an easel to set up and like a new sketchbook but I have like a tin that fits like all of my like pencils and markers or whatever else I want to bring probably oil pastels paints brushes who knows it's like a pokemon lunchbox that I'm reusing which I think is so so fun but I I just really want to start going out into nature and like painting or going outside to the park or just doing whatever like I I have lots of goals and lots of to do's on the brain in the art department I'm just like a like building up my skills my repertoire portfolio whatever you want to call it and then be just like enjoying it and making the memories and just like doing the thing you know what I mean and I just think it's funny that it's like in my soul like I just want to paint outside and then I like look it up and I'm like oh this actually has like a really fancy French name like ooh la la you know we're fancy artists these days with fancy words and phrases and I don't know I just I think it's goofy but I really do want to do it more and it's just one of those things like I gotta be patient and I just have to actually put in the work like I need to be patient but I need to take the steps to like do the thing you know what I mean like action has to be there along with the plans you know so that is something that's still in the works I guess it's still a fresh update if I haven't really made much progress since I last wrote it in the notes but that has just been like heavily heavily weighing on the brain especially since you know the weather is just like gotten warm I just I want to be outside more and like we have had some hot days here in Arizona but it has not been that it has not been that excruciatingly hot yet so I've really been enjoying that for sure I know my dog has as well that's something I'm just like a little anxious about is she's my outside girl so she loves her time outside when it gets too hot I have to bring her in I can't just like torture her and let her bake so she might be a night time a night guard girly for the summertime when it gets toasty but right now everything is still lovely and manageable so grateful for that I feel like I have so so much more to say but it's all kind of like escaping me at the moment maybe I'm just running out of steam talking for an hour and a half already but my last little update I'm gonna throw in there is just something that I'm like so so proud of and then I have not become a pro but I am now like well versed in the world of notion if you don't know what that is it's like like a little website thing it's you can make notes in there you can make spreadsheets it's like just like a hub for whatever whatever you need to work on like if you have like personal files habit tracker finance things that you want to keep track of like you can make that stuff there if you have like a business to run you know you can have all your files located one place it's like a cloud like your own personal cloud workspace type thing again I'm not an expert but it is something I've just been using for a while to just like hold all of my like like podcast information all of my art ideas and everything and I was just making so many different pages so many different documents everything was getting very like clustered confused and I just went through and made like a digital art studio a hub for myself I was very much inspired by Brooke Cormier she's a Canadian artist perhaps station Vienna still maybe not I don't know I've just been binging her material she's been delightful so so delightful to watch but she has like a digital art studio and like an ocean template so I kind of like based some stuff off of that but then also incorporated like my own things but I'm just so proud of myself because I have up until recently been at war with technology I always say I hate it I always say I don't like it I truly do love more analog things like I love to journal pen and paper that's how I remember things I love taking pictures like my polaroid I love making things look like film because I don't actually have a film camera yet but I love the like vintage styles like I have a record player I would love a landline oh my god I would never call anyone again on my cell phone if I had a landline man that would be amazing we've gone too far with technology in my head but also also before I tangent too hard on that I am trying to shift my mindset I was listening to a podcast my partner sent me a Joe Rogan podcast where I do want to say if you're one of those girls that really hates on Joe Rogan like have you listened to him like a lot of people like I used to hear all these things about him just being like you know just like a classic white dude you know on the internet just like found conservative bullshit or whatever and like some things are definitely like controversial on that show but like the more I listen to it like he's just a regular guy and he's pretty open-minded and it's it's a really great show I've learned a lot like listening to the different guests he has on he has like very interesting people and it's just the show is cool there's a reason why it's like the biggest podcast like don't knock it till you try it kind of thing but I was listening to an episode with I believe Robert Rodriguez he's a director like the guy who directed Spy Kids and a bunch of other really cool stuff but it was just a really great listen and something he was talking about was just like my whole life I hated working out and I had a hard time just like doing it but like I know I needed to because you know there's there are reasons why you need to exercise you know your muscles need to be strong in order to support your body to do certain things kind of thing but he was saying he was just like at some point I decided to change my mind I mean like instead of hating working out he was like I am now an athlete and I will do what athletes do and he's like and since then I haven't had as much trouble working out and I've like been able to and like I actually kind of enjoy it sometimes as before I just never could so I'm really trying to bring that energy to like my outlook on technology like I've always said I hated it I hate dealing with it I make my partner fix it for me all the time instead of figuring it out myself just because I know he knows so much and that he enjoys it and it's very much like his realm his world and again I'm changing my mind like if I want to have a dang podcast if I want to be a content creator and start creating some really cool like YouTube videos like I'm gonna have to learn how to edit and like I'm gonna be spending lots of time on the computer so like why am I resisting it so much like just because I prefer to watch movies in a theater and look at pictures from film and write with a pen and paper doesn't mean that I also have to hate technology like it is a super helpful tool and it's given me the opportunity to like choose this life path I want to go down and like potentially build like a brand for myself and just like create art in different ways that people couldn't a hundred years ago and that's super fucking cool and so I'm really trying to like embrace like I love technology.
Technology allows me to do so much.
I'm actually really good at it.
I can do whatever I set my mind to.
Like all I have to do is try and attempt and like all of my storage issues I figured out pretty much all on my own and that's been really really cool and my partner he was actually really impressed with me and like doing all this stuff on notion like figuring that out because it is kind of like it has like code vibes like it's not like you're really writing code but you'll do like slash database to like insert a table kind of thing and I'm like oh that was very very techy of me and then I'll do slash call out and make a cute little like colorful box and put my table in it and then I'll like link that table on like another page so I can access it elsewhere and like my little dashboard that I've created and it's just it's been really cool when my partner saw me working on it he thought I was like creating a website I'm like yeah yeah I'm a techie gal now and if you look at how much I'm smiling I'm like bragging about it and then like it has been fun to just like figure stuff out and challenge myself in a new way I definitely will still hate technology and be frustrated about it because when I'm told if I do input A I'll get output B and it doesn't happen that's always gonna drive me freaking bananas drive me bonkers if you will and like that's okay that can rightfully like annoy me and make me frustrated but that also doesn't mean I have to hate technology just because of that one thing just because it's inconvenient and frustrating and annoying like people are like that my dogs are like that and I'm like that and I don't hate any of those things you know I actually love them all very much and and so that's just been my most recent like mental mind shift if you will something I thought that was just worth sharing with y'all but yeah if you're interested in like my notion thing of Bob my little digital art studio I'd be happy to share that I'll wait until someone asks though but it is very similar to Rick Cormier's you can also just go check out her video and all that jazz she also has a template for sale I'm just a poor girlie and I just you know wanted to like cater it towards myself I don't really like to like copy what other people do I like to be inspired and like make my own version so that's what I did and it was it was really fun cool little project also reminded me of this other quote that another artist talked about that another artist said that probably someone else said and it was something along the lines of like all art is stolen like who has an original idea these days like so much is like inspired and like drawn from and taken from like the whole like element of the muse is so you know intangible like how are we really able to like locate you know the origin story for these different like artistic ideas and I think the whole point is like it doesn't matter like we just need to all embrace like our different takes and I think as long as people are just like giving credit where credits do you know there's there's no harm in you know building off of the art and creations that other people put out into the world right like dang if someone took one of the pictures I took like photography wise and like you know maybe printed it out cut that shit up and put it in like a collage of theirs and like made their own art piece with it like that'd be super cool I would not be mad at them for like stealing my art or whatever like that's kind of like the vibes of what I mean but like all are just stolen kind of thing and anywho those are just you know little rants and rambles and thoughts that have just been in this nugget of mine that I decided to spit out for you and I think that's all I've got so to wrap things up we're gonna do some tarot reading today.
I do think I actually maybe forgot to read tarot at the end of the last episode.
It was my burnout episode so I was not really like vibing I was just trying really hard to be there and like show up for myself because I do want to have discipline I want to be a disciplined person but life's hard you know.
I have the heart and hands tarot deck today my cute little black and white one.
Alrighty, I'm just sending the best vibes, the best energy into this deck.
I really do feel so good now that I've been podcasting, like, you know, my period and whatever, like, has not been an enjoyable experience the past couple days, and honestly, doing this, chatting with you, blitting all the words out of my head has been the best I felt the past 48 hours.
So that's been really cool.
That's great fuel for future motivation of when like I don't feel like recording.
It's like going to the gym, like I just know if I just get there and I do it, if I just start, I will enjoy it.
And I will thank myself for it later.
But yeah, best vibes going into this deck right now.
And we're just going to pull this top card and we have the six of wands, I do believe there's all these like wood staffs with like leaves at the end, you know, some hands hold them up, but they're all just like positioned in this cool like star like figure.
And there's just some some plants and foliage, some flowers surrounding them, some like clouds in the background, you know, it could also be, you know, a window, perhaps.
Is this giving window vibes to you?
I don't know.
Let's take a look in our little guidebook because we're still learning about tarot.
Still learning.
I'm still not at that place where I like remember where everything means, but it has been such a delightful practice still.
Actually, now that I say that, I haven't been tarot reading as much as I used to.
And I do feel like it is very much like journaling.
And like, I haven't been doing either of those things recently, and it has been weighing on my mind.
Like it feels like chaos up in there.
You know that episode of SpongeBob where everything's on fire and you're just searching through all the files?
Like that's what my brain is like most of the time when I'm not journaling and doing great things for my mental health.
But anywho, we're doing the tarot reading today.
We're patching things up, making good choices for ourselves.
A little book ASMR for you.
And there we are.
The Six of Wands.
Hands lift a laurel wreath ready to crown a worthy victor.
This card suggests that good news is coming.
Your ambitions will be fulfilled and your talents and achievements will be recognized.
Accept your honors and be proud of what you've accomplished.
Well, that's really cool.
I see the wreath now.
I do.
Yeah, the hands holding it up.
That is very, very cool.
I hope that that resonated with you a little bit.
I hope that you do indeed find the good fortune that is out there waiting for you.
And that's it, folks.
That's all I've got for y'all today.
It has been great getting back into the swing of things.
I definitely want to try my very hardest to be back next week.
In fact, I'm going to try to record tomorrow.
Getting back into the swing of things.
I do think that we'll have some sort of like storytime-esque episode where we're kind of just like talking about life lessons, you know, we'll save...
take a little break from the astrology for at least a week before, you know, we reintroduce the like planetary vocabulary and all that jazz.
But I do foresee that in the next couple of months, you know, we'll, you know, have set our our astrology 101 foundation and we can, you know, start start figuring out what's next for us here in this little podcasting world.
But thank you so so much for being here.
Truly it means the world.
I will say it every time because it is so true.
Like if you are listening to this, I fucking love you.
Like you're amazing and thank you for supporting me.
Like, God, that's it's so awesome that you found me.
And I hope that you have enjoyed your time here and that you've learned something and that your heart feels good and that your life is just like full of so much joy and if life feels rough and like that sounds like a bunch of bullshit, like life will get better and you have it in you to make your dreams come true.
And yeah, thank you for being here because it's helping me make my dreams come true.
So if you want to be even more helpful, you know what I'm going to say.
God, I hate, I hate to stick that little spiel out there, but it really would be so helpful if you like lift a comment or a rating, a review of sorts, share this on your story, perhaps, you know, hit that subscribe, follow, you know, keep coming back for more.
I might take breaks, but I will always come back to it because this is something that is just really meaningful to me.
Like I love this podcast.
It's something I wanted for so long and I'm actually doing the dang thing.
Like how cool is that?
So thank you for being here.
I love you.
So, so grateful.
And until next time, bye babes.”
